This press release announces on April 26, 1973, that the World Bank loan of fifteen million US dollars to help finance a project to modernize and increase the capacity of the State Railway of Thailand (SRI), and enable it to maintain its competitive position with other modes of transport. The World Bank loan will help finance, modifications to the railway system made necessary by this dieselization.
